The Hawaiian
Adventures
By Nick
I remember the
first time I went to Hawaii the air was wet and hot. In Honolulu
it was 95 degrees outside and I could smell the wet moist palm tree
filled air. When we arrived to the hotel the resort was called Palms
by the Coast Resort it was a tiki styled hotel with a big huge pool
that had a water fountain next to it. The landscape was incredible
it palm trees around the pool and the islands native plants also
around the pool. The rooms of the resort were fascinating they were
like mansions but a little bit smaller with big windows and skylights
in the bathrooms, the bedrooms were huge they all had ocean view
and patios. On the second day we went to a beach called Pekaho National
Black Sand Beach, when we arrived there we a big parking lot where
you can park your car and a trail that led to the beach and on our
way there we saw a fresh water shower. I wanted to take a shower
so I stayed behind and I turned the shower and the water was cold
and I screamed "Ohhhhh my god this water is very cold."
Then my mom and dad ran to see if I was ok and I said "Yes
mom and dad I'm ok so after I got soaking wet me and my dad went
to get the scuba gear me my mom and my dad went scuba diving. We
saw assorted varieties of fish like angelfish, needlefish and many
eels.
We also went
farther out into the ocean and saw many bigger fish like a lady
of Hawaii fish and we even saw a baby electric eel. When I saw it
I felt like dinner for it because electric eels are very dangerous
so I swam away from it and I told my mom and dad to come with me
because we would have all been its dinner.
On the
last night we were kind of bummed that we were leaving the following
morning, but my mom said that we were going to a luau. A luau is
a party where the native people of the Hawaiian Islands show you
their customs for example they tell you about their food and we
got to eat it to. Then after dinner you get to see their clothing
and how they lived in the olden days. At the end of the show all
of the performers came out and took a bow then they had a final
act which was really amazing it involved torches and ice water.
"Get
up," said my mom's loud tone of voice "It's time to leave
already," I replied with tiredness. Well this is the end of
my Hawaiian Adventure I said to myself as I was sitting in a shuttle
bus going to Honolulu International Airport. As we walked up to
the gate and got our tickets, then suddenly we heard over the intercom
"Flight 1832 please get ready to board the airplane" Me
and my mom and dad ran to the gate and boarded the plane. Suddenly
the airplane started to lift of the ground and I felt my blood go
up to my head and after that I looked out my window and I could
see Honolulu disappear behind thick clouds and in my mind I said
"Good bye Hawaii see you next time."
