My Worst
Pain
By Michael
Did this
have to happen to me? My head, the blood, the hospital. It all happened
when I was about five years old.
I ambled into
the family room and saw my older brother, Matt, playing a Super
Nintendo game. The game he was playing "Super Mario All-Stars".
I was going to play a harmless, practical joke. At least I thought
it was a harmless joke. I donĂt know what went through my mind then,
but it turned out to be the worst joke I have ever played. So I
walk casually into the family room and toward my brother and SNAP!!
I turned off the Super Nintendo. That got him pissed.
He started
chasing. My younger, twin brother, Caleb, was rooting for Matt,
"Go get ‘em, Matt!" he yelled. That made me lose my confidence
of escaping my stronger dimwitted brother.
"Move
to the left." I thought, "YouĂll make it alive."
Matt shouted,"
I know what youĂre thinking and youĂre not going to make it alive.
ThatĂs when I felt an immense pain take over. It was like a sharp
knife slicing and dicing my whole body into numerous amounts of
small body parts. I had run into the needlelike corner of a wall.
I could smell the putrid smell of blood. Blood was oozing out of
the slit in my head. Some blood trickled down my face and into my
mouth. I could feel the tasteless blood on my pink, fleshy tongue.
Crying and
crying was all I did until my mom and dad came downstairs. When
my parents saw what had happened, they were speechless. My mom called
the hospital, and my dad tried to calm me down.
While the
doctor stitched me up I could here my momĂs quivering voice, "My
baby, my poor, poor baby."
When the
operation was over, I felt myself being hoisted into the car. As
I was being hoisted, I thought to myself, "Oh my gosh, I
canĂt believe what just happened. I am lucky to be alive."
I said aloud, "DonĂt you guys think I should be careful next
time?" I soon fell asleep.
I am grateful
for being alive, but not for running into a wall. Thank you G-d
for being with me and protecting me. I also give thanks to my family
for staying by my side when I needed them the most. Thank you.
