Spinning
and Spinning Out Of Control
by
John
I was flying
through the air holding onto the rope, my knuckles were white and
my hands had a stinging feeling to them. Spinning and spinning getting
dizzier and dizzier, BOOM, CRASH, BANG, my landing wasn't so good.
We were at the
rope swing my friends and I built over the summer, in the woods.
You would swing over a 40-foot cliff, swing back and land on the
dirt, or you would go without your feet in the foot loop swing around
the tree and land on a fallen log.
My two best
friends Daniel, and David were at the rope swing with me. We were
having a spinning competition. I was standing on the log ready to
swing back to the starting place. I was going for the 1080´ witch
is three full 360´ turns. I swung off the fallen log, my knuckles
were white I had 1.5 spins completed, and was getting dizzier and
dizzier holding on for my life then my hands slipped off the rope.
As I looked
down I saw a bright white flash, then my life flash before my eyes.
My ears had a screeching sound in them like someone scratching a
chock board with their nails. About 10 feet above the ground I looked
down and mercilessly my feet were pointed down. It was all in slow
motion. I hit the ground and rolled and rolled. It was like I was
in a tornado rolling and rolling not being able to stop. I felt
a big pain like someone hit me with a speeding car. I had hit a
tree and stopped rolling. I got up about a minute later with nothing
but a few scratches and a hurt back.
