The Dazzling
Ship
By Stewart
I opened the
door to my cabin, put my bags down in the sparkling clean room.
I walked
back out and down the hallway. I reached a glamorous and elegant
atrium. I heard the hum of busy vacationers. There was a huge gold
sculpture in the middle of many multicolored dancing lights curving
around each of the floors. Elevators carried lots of happy people
from floor to floor on the Inspiration of the Carnival cruise line.
Then I saw my sisters and they said, "Come on deck and see
how beautiful it is."
I replied,
"Yeah I would really like to see that." Once we reached
the deck of the great ship, I saw two huge pools and four hot tubs
bubbling with white suds. Then I saw my grandparents, looking out
on the ocean. I walked over to them and thanked them for getting
tickets on this nice cruise. They answered, "It's no problem.
We wanted to do this for everyone." I was glad that I would
spend so much time with my cousins, grandparents, and my aunts and
uncles.
That evening,
I stood on deck with my grandparents when we were taking off from
the island San Juan. The great big horn blew, the dolphin's fin
shaped exhaust pipe blew smoke and steam as we pulled away from
the port. Everyone cheered. I left the dock wondering what the next
week would be like with my family and relatives on this trip around
the Caribbean islands.
