Zapp!
By Scott
I remember it
well!
I was a stinky
5-year-old sprawled on the couch watching Scooby-Doo. I heard Amy's
(my sister's) voice echo down the candle lit hall and in the living
room saying excitedly," Scott come in my room I want to show
you something!"
Because she
never lets me in her room I jumped off the couch and ran excitedly
down the hall as fast as my little 5-year-old legs could take me.
When I got in
there she was sitting on her bed so I went over to Amy and she told
me," Hey Scott put your tongue on this it tastes like strawberries!"
She was holding
telephone cord in her hand, which led all the way down to the wall
into the light socket.
Not thinking
like most 5-year-olds, I stuck my tongue on the glowing amber red
wires.
ZAPP! Both were
the sounds of the sour electricity hitting my damp little tongue
and the sound of how quick I ran out of her room tears of bitter
pain running from my shocked white face. I ran down the hall screaming,
"Mom!"
I could still
hear her laughing madly down the hall.
Later, Amy got
her punishment which, was no phone for two weeks. This didn't seem
fair in my mind, probably because I wasn't a stupid teenage girl.
Still paranoid
I came out of my room after playing with my Lego's with my final
creation in my hand. The Ultimate Battle Station! I came walking
out of my room then out of nowhere a hand plugged my nose. I tried
to scream as loud as I could but nothing came out. Then a blanket
went over my mouth; I couldn't breath! I squirmed around and saw
my sister. My face turned candied apple red. I grabbed my sister's
hair and pulled as hard as I could. Suddenly her hands dropped.
I took a deep breath of air, which felt like the first breath of
life. My sister ran into her room.
I did it.
I won.
I outmatched
her!
