The Time
I was in A Lot of Pain!
By Jesse
A very tragic
thing happened on August 14, 2000. I, Jesse, broke my collarbone.
I was
on the California side in Tahoe Keys Marina skateboarding with my
friend Kyle. I was busting some
kick-flips, doing some pop shovits, I couldn't believe how well
I was doing.
Then I thought
I would settle down for a minute. I was going down a sidewalk and
then all of a sudden I
hit a huge crack in the sidewalk and went soaring through the air.
While I was in the air my life flashed
before me.
Then I fell
to the ground with pain, I felt like I was going to pass out and
die I
was in so much pain. My friend Kyle finally saw me lying on the
ground with pain in my face. Kyle
came over to me and said, "Are you alright man? I saw your skateboard
rolling down the street!"
I could barely
move, let alone talk to Kyle, so I moved my hand up and down so
Kyle knew
I was ok. Kyle ran back to his house and got his dad. His dad and
Kyle carried me back to
their house. When I got there I said,"It's ok, I think I just sprained
it, I'll be fine."
The next morning
I couldn't even get up. Kyle called my mom and told her the whole
story. My mom showed
up about forty-five minutes later. She got me in the car and took
me to the doctor. I was
in so much pain I couldn't think. After the doctors took x-rays
he told me that I broke my collarbone.
I couldn't believe it. Neither could my mom or Kyle. The doctor
gave me a brace to
wear.
After a few
days it became not as painful. The time I was in a lot of pain had
finally passed.
In about six weeks I was back on my feet skateboarding. I
was a lot more careful when
I went skateboarding from that point on. I learned that you should
always be ready for moment
on, I always wore a helmet, kneepads, and elbow pads. I finally
figured out the danger of
skateboarding. I learned that you should always be ready for anything.
